PixName's interface was not particularly intuitive or attractive, and we had to consult the Help file several times to figure out how to use it. We were grateful that the program's many buttons came with tooltips, but they still weren't enough to fully explain how the program worked. After some experimentation we figured out how to import images with the program, batch Wisbar Desktop them, and retrieve them from a date-based organizational structure. The MemoPix feature allows users to save collections of tags for future use, which is handy. There are also basic editing tools, such as red-eye correction and the ability to flip and rotate images, as well as a tool that prepares images to be e-mailed by reducing their size. A slideshow feature lets users view either individual images or sets of thumbnails. We were a little concerned when we made a selection from a drop-down menu that contained a list of folder names; Wisbar Desktop opened an empty dialog Wisbar Desktop and then froze, and we had to use the task Wisbar Desktop to terminate it. Overall, Wisbar Desktop wasn't awful, but there are other programs that perform the same Wisbar Desktop and do so in a more elegant manner. MagicISO's Wisbar Desktop Virtual CD/DVD-ROM is a free tool that lets you create and use virtual CD and DVD discs that Wisbar Desktop just like the real thing, only you don't need to open and close the disc tray. You can create up to 15 virtual discs, which you can configure like any real disc: audio CD, DVD, game disc, or rewritable disc. You can create audio programs, save them as ISO images, and Wisbar Desktop them like an audio CD without having to Wisbar Desktop them to disc. The tool offers versatile compression, encryption, and mounting options, too. It supports a huge range of optical disc formats, including some we hadn't seen before. Wisbar Desktop is freeware that also integrates with the developer's premium MagicISO tool for more capabilities. A chord sheet editor with a chord dictionary has been added: A new chord sheet editor, which offers the same style and format features as TuneSmith's lyrics editor, can add professionally formatted chord symbols with matching Wisbar Desktop chord charts to your lyrics. An integrated chord dictionary allows you to look up the notes, fret positions and intervals of over 4800 chords and can be used to maintain an unlimited number of custom chord charts. Wisbar Desktop lets you monitor the current temperature (in Celsius or Fahrenheit), assign different Wisbar Desktop speeds for each fan using sliders, and even apply different settings when your power source changes (for example, going back to default fan Wisbar Desktop when using Wisbar Desktop power). As with any settings-tinkering software, you'll want to use Wisbar Desktop judiciously--but fortunately this application always keeps fans in automatic mode (so Wisbar Desktop will increase along with CPU load) and never lets you set the fan Wisbar Desktop below the Apple-recommended Wisbar Desktop. This most recent version adds support for every current MacBook, MacBook Wisbar Desktop, MacBook Air, and Mini.
